Rural Health Inc. Welcomes Dr. Blake Cain, MD, to Family Medical Clinic in Goreville

Rural Health, Inc. (RHI), a family medical clinic providing quality medical, OB/GYN, dental, and behavioral health care for the region, proudly announces that Dr. Blake Cain, MD, has joined its medial office in Goreville, Illinois; bringing an extensive background in family medicine for residents of Johnson County and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Cain, who joined RHI in July, 2025, received a Bachelors of Science in Physiology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee where he completed his thesis research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Following his training at St. Jude’s, Dr. Cain returned to southern Illinois where, at Southern Illinois University-School of Medicine-Carbondale, he managed a neurobiology lab in the anatomy department and later completed a Doctorate of Medicine.

“I knew I wanted to serve in rural Southern Illinois after residency”, said Dr. Cain. “Rural Health Inc.’s mission and served demographic aligns perfectly with my own goals. I am driven to help those who are in rural Southern Illinois and Rural Health is the exact kind of place I dreamed of working at.”
