Rural Health, Inc. Announces 2026 Scholarship Opportunities

Rural Health, Inc. (RHI), a healthcare leader in the service area of Johnson, Massac, and Union counties, is funding and administering eight healthcare scholarship opportunities to high school students that qualify.

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior at each of the following schools: Anna-Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Goreville, Joppa, Massac County, Shawnee, and Vienna. Applicants will be recognized for their desire to pursue a career in healthcare.

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in one of the high schools listed
  • Be a resident of Johnson, Massac, or Union county
  • Complete high school requirements by Spring of 2026
  • Be in the top 30% of their class
  • Have plans to pursue a healthcare degree or certificate at an accredited college or university
  • Provide proof of enrollment at an accredited institution of higher learning prior to receiving a monetary award, which will be issued in the form of a check made directly to the student for college-related expenses

Application packets are available from the Guidance Counselor at the above schools and at Rural Health Inc. for Home-Schooled students by calling 618-833-4471. Completed packets must be returned to the Guidance Counselor or RHI by March 6, 2026 to qualify.
