Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15

Rural Health, Inc. reminds residents age 65 and older that open enrollment for Medicare begins October 15 and runs through December 7. During this time, you can sign up for Medicare if you did not do it when you turned 65.

What you should consider doing during Open Enrollment:

• Check your part D, drug plan, to see if you can find a better plan to help you save more money.
• Check your Medicare Supplement Plan to see if you can get a plan at a lower cost. Most people find that they can save money each year by doing this.

If you have questions about Medicare open enrollment, or need help understanding your coverage, contact your local Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselor at Rural Health, Inc. at 618-833-4471 or visit medicare.gov or shiphelp.org to learn more. SHIP counselors are trained to help you, and their services are available to you at no cost.
