On May 29, The United Recovery Community Coalition will be hosting a free event aimed at educating the public on supporting the basic needs of people in recovery. From 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, individuals will learn from guest speakers how to effectively support those in their recovery journey by addressing basic needs such as: access to food, stable housing, and employment opportunities. The coalition aims to empower participants with the practical strategies to navigate challenges surrounding basic necessities and to make meaningful impacts in the lives of those in recovery. Along with the guest speakers, participants will be able to network with local resource vendors that foster a supportive environment for individuals striving towards holistic wellness and long-term stability. The event will be taking place in person at Harvest Church of Southern IL (602 East Davie Street, Anna, IL, 62906) and will also be available through Zoom. Individuals interested in the Zoom option can obtain more information by contacting Serena Smith of Rural Health, Inc. at [email protected].
