Sunday, April 3rd, marked the fifth year for the Medication Assisted Treatment program at Rural Health, Inc. Medication Assisted Treatment, otherwise known as MAT, is the use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a “whole patient” approach to the treatment of opioid use disorders. Overall, MAT is used to help patients sustain from opioid addiction, and is used to prevent and reduce opioid overdose.
